Cylinder Head Bolts

We offer both 70mm and 120mm cylinder head bolts for the 6BTA engine. Bolt lengths and counts vary depending on engine variant:

  • 4B/4BT/4BTA: 10 bolts per head

  • 6B/6BT/6BTA: 14 bolts per head

All bolts are hardened, threaded to exact spec, and should be torqued according to Cummins service manual guidelines.

Upper Gasket Sets for Cummins 6BTA

Our upper gasket sets are designed for complete top-end overhauls and include all necessary seals and gaskets for the cylinder head, intake, exhaust, and valve cover systems.

Valve Cover Gaskets

Valve cover gaskets are critical in preventing oil leaks and protecting the cylinder head internals. Diesel Pro Power offers gray silicone gaskets that provide superior heat and oil resistance compared to older cork or rubber designs.

These gaskets are easy to install, reusable in some cases, and seal securely to prevent oil weep around the valve cover perimeter.

Valve Springs

Valve springs maintain pressure on the valve to keep it closed until it's opened by the camshaft. Worn or broken valve springs can lead to poor engine performance, misfires, and valve-to-piston contact.

We stock valve springs for the entire B series line, including:

  • 4BT 3.9

  • 6BT 5.9

  • ISB and QSB derivatives

These springs are precision-wound and built to withstand high-RPM operation.

Valve Inserts (Seats)

Valve inserts (also known as valve seats) ensure the sealing surface for both the intake and exhaust valves remains intact. Over time, excessive heat or improper seating can wear down these inserts, compromising compression and leading to valve leaks.

Intake Valve Inserts:

  • Heat-treated alloy material

  • Interference-fit installation

Exhaust Valve Inserts:

Valve Guides

Valve guides keep the valves aligned and control the amount of oil passing through the valve stem area. Proper guide condition is essential to prevent oil consumption and valve wobble.

Valve Guide Seals

These seals sit atop the valve guides and prevent oil from leaking down the valve stem into the combustion chamber. Our seals are compatible with both intake and exhaust valves.

  • Prevent oil burning and smoke on startup

We recommend replacing valve guide seals during any top-end overhaul or cylinder head replacement.

Push Rods and Gaskets

Push rods transfer the motion from the camshaft to the rocker arms and valves. They must be perfectly straight and free of wear.

Our push rods are designed for:

  • 4B, 4BT, 6B, and 6BT engines

  • Hardened ends for increased life

  • OE-style length and diameter

Push rod cover gaskets are also available to prevent leaks at the push rod chamber, especially after servicing.

Rocker Arm Hardware

  • Rocker Arm Assemblies (available upon request)

Temperature Switches

For engines using temperature-controlled fans or safety shutoff systems, we carry temperature switches that activate at 205°F. These switches feature:

  • Standard 1/2” NPT threads

  • Brass construction for corrosion resistance

  • Compatibility with Cummins, Detroit Diesel, and Caterpillar engines

These switches are especially important for marine configurations with seawater heat exchangers, where overheating can escalate rapidly.
